In June, I had the joy of setting up at Kemptville Brewing Co. for a one-of-a-kind event that combined two of my favourite things, babies and beer! The June Babies & Brews gathering brought together local families in the most relaxed, heartwarming way: good drinks, great company, and a chance to slow down and savour this fleeting season of life.
As part of the event, I offered heirloom portrait sessions, giving parents a gentle invitation to step in front of the lens, either with their babies or capturing their little ones on their own. These sessions weren’t about perfection. They were about presence.
Real Moments, Not Posed Ones
No need for matching outfits or rehearsed smiles. I encouraged families to come as they are. Some parents cradled sleeping babes, some toddlers made silly faces, and some families simply shared a quiet glance that said everything words couldn’t.
Every photograph taken that day was meant to preserve a feeling — the weight of a baby in your arms, the comfort of connection, the sweetness of now.
A Beautiful Backdrop & a Local Favourite
Kemptville Brewing Co. proved to be the perfect setting: laid-back, welcoming, and full of community charm. Whether parents came solo with their child or made a casual afternoon of it with friends and drinks, the vibe was warm, supportive, and fun.
It’s not every day that you get to combine craft beer with meaningful keepsakes, but honestly, it worked so beautifully.

My goal with each session was to create something that wouldn’t just sit on your phone, but instead, something you’d want to print, frame, and cherish.
